I am impressed by all the little (sometimes minute) details that differentiate each machine from another. Thanks for sharing this, I find it quite fascinating! :)Ramblings from Canadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16844332192565943221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8655653784122131754.post-75523072280201522852016-02-22T09:27:39.448-05:002016-02-22T09:27:39.448-05:00Glad not to be a nerd. ...Fabulous typewriters. Congratulations, Guillermo.

Now for the quiz:

1. That's a relabeled Noiseless 4, probably from right when Remington bought the Noiseless Co. but before Rem redesigned the line of desktop Noiseless machines. So this has a thrust mechanism and metal platen while the Rem 6 and 10 have a different mechanism (the uppercut/lowercut, 2-letters-per-typebar system) and a rubber platen.

2. Glass keys with metal rims seem seriously rare on a Lexikon 80. Also, my Hispano-Olivetti model is a 'Lexicon 80' so I wonder if the name itself is rare.

3. Yes because it has two dead keys at the far right (though, to be fair, they could be for German accents.)

I look forward to finding out if I am a nerd (to win is to lose!)

Robrnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01115499862681364911noreply@blogger.com
