I'd never heard of Kemske -- looks like fun. There is a whole genre of workplace satire, such as my friend Ed Park's novel "Personal Days." But when this little tale popped into my head, I was thinking more of the well-worn '50s SF short story anthologies I used to get from the library when I was a kid.
Ah... vewy cweva. I read through it the first time, missed it completely, and caught it the second sentence in the next time around. Real good, I must say.
That was only slightly twisted. But I suppose that depends on whether the reader takes sides or not. I personally enjoy an afternoon snack to get through the last bit of the workday.
