Rhetorical questions

  1. Is the Sphinx rare?
    Is the Valentine overpriced?
Is the Corona Floating Shift streamlined?
    Is Richard the luckiest typospherian?

    Wow, congrats!

    1. Funny, your rhetorical question elicited actual replies.
Your new Torpedo is that awesome.

  2. And look how pristine! That's been my experience with script machines. Very nice! You make it worth the gas and time by doing other things. We would incorporate a bike ride, for example.

    1. It had the usual mix of cat hair, flyspecks, and whatnot -- even a paper clip jammed into the ribbon vibrator for some reason -- but it wasn't too hard to clean up. Judging from the crud in the type, it did get a lot of use.

I enjoyed the time in the car listening to "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" and "This American Life" (an interesting show on coincidences).

  5. I love that color combination! I've resisted the urge to repaint the grey/blue top of my Torpedo 18 script machine, but the tangerine is pretty irresistible.

  6. Definitely! I still have to find a script typewriter for my own collection... now you've just added another item to the ever-growing wishlist.

  7. Yum! Gorgeous. Worth every cent and more. I hung out for a Torpedo 30, and it arrived busted. Still, I very much suspect the 18 is the last of the really good Torpedos.

  8. Omigosh that's beautiful. Looks like a creamsicle!

  9. Yep, the colour scheme alone makes it worthwhile. Congrats.

  11. Egad!

Jeeves! The smelling salts! I feel one of my Jealous Spells coming on...

  12. That is just SICK. In the best way possible.

  13. Tangerine Dream! I can't think of many better ways to spend two hours while evaporating what's left of the planet's oil reserves. The thing is, you had an hour of anticipation and an hour of that satisfied hunter-gatherer feeling when you bring back a trophy.

  15. Is it just me or does that typewriter look delicious?

  16. I thought that I had seen what I considered my favourite Torpedo to be, the grey and blue one. I think this beats it.

I actually began salivating, it seems. XD
