Easy come, easy go

  1. Well, that was quick! I'm sure St. Vinny will bring along one of the curvaceous 3000s soon enough; they're great to look at and just as lovely to use as your boxier version.

Just curious - what happens to the typewriter after John finishes writing his article? Shouldn't he return it to you, or is the shipping cost not worth the trouble?

  2. No time for jealousy on The Polt's blog - they come, they go.

  3. I expect John will want to keep the Hermes, and he has every right; I sold it to him for the thrift store price + shipping, and he's the new owner.

I'm not optimistic about finding another at SVDP, because this was the first Hermes of any model that I've seen there in 4-5 years of frequenting the place. I think it was testing me: I blew my chance to be generous years ago by accepting a Hermes 3000; would I take the chance to be generous by giving one up? I didn't want to miss that chance.

  4. Wow I don't think I could let mine go like that. The others all are good/bad/indifferent but the Hermes is almost exactly what I want a typewriter to feel like.
It seems every blogger who gets one marvels at the feel. It's a completely different experience somehow.
