Betrayed by our companions

  1. Big brother, for sure.

I am working on a short story, where a guy in the future is deemed insane for voluntarily disconnecting from the "system".

  2. Big brother -- and billions of little brothers.

I'd love to read that story!

  3. The thing is, its mostly passive collection, so unless you are an "person of interest", then you are relatively safe. But, once someone wants to dig up information, then you could be in trouble.

I figure that I'll always be under the radar and of no real interest, so in that, I am safe:)

  4. What's annoying is that even in the unlikely event that it starts out as a useful convenience, it doesn't stay that way. It's just a matter of who's calling the shots today that determines the threat to any individual or group.

  5. I "chucked my cellphone into a river" a year and a half ago and haven't gone looking for it since. No thanks.
