Token resistance

  1. Great work, Richard! It would have been wonderful to see someone's reaction...

  2. Good start! Would that also be ironic, in light of their iconic "1984" ad?

  3. Well done, Richard. Long live the revolution.

  4. I would have like to be there and just watch if any one really read it and see their reaction. Good job.

  5. Great, now I'll get the blame for it! I just Googled 'Typewriter Insurgency' and my blog post from a few weeks ago was top of the list...complete with the little '?' next to the Norton Antivirus logo just to make it look even seedier.
Will somebody PLEASE write something about the Typewriter Insurgency so that my stuff can slip a few rungs down the ladder? Those Apple stores don't mess around.
I think I can hear the black helicopters approaching now. Actually, if they're from Apple, wouldn't they be white? And made of plastic?

Nice blow for The Platen Spinners*, Richard!

*That would be all of us in the typosphere, in case you were wondering.

  6. That was priceless. Especially the line:
"When they tell you that going digital means going green, they're referring to the color of money."
I'll have to memorize that one, because I suspect there will be plenty of opportunity for its use.

And the little note to be left behind what a gem as well. Kudos for that brilliant idea!

  7. Perhaps you should be making an 8mm movie instead!

  8. I cannot even go into those stores...far too many people, aside from my complete lack of interest in Apple products. I have an iPod, but that is as far as I go, and really it could be any digital music player.

On a side note, I just received my issues of ETCetera, and I must tell you how impressed I am. I poked through them at my parent's house (where my mail goes) but have yet to sit down to read it, however I was very pleased with what I saw. Such high quality, both in print and in content...amazing. Now, where do I send submissions for the various reader content sections?

    Thanks so much!

  9. They actually had the cable you needed!? That's what astounds me.
