Wow! That IS impressive. I'd have written the rust-bucket off as a junker but the Evapo-rust treatment seems to have transformed it completely. Are sure that's the same machine ;-) Looks like the blueing has gone with the rust.
Amazing! It's hard to believe it's the same machine. I know nothing about restoration of this scale (or perhaps any scale!); would have dismissed the "Before" version without a thought. The moral: don't just a typewriter by its... rust!
I'm excited to see it with all the finishing touches.

What a difference! I have not encountered Evapo-Rust or its Swiss equivalent, but you have made a believer out of me - I agree with everyone that I would have passed this over if I'd seen it in its original state! Great job.
I think the cherry-red paint is a wonderful idea, of course, and I look forward to seeing the result!
Wow, you didn't waste any time! I posted a comment yesterday about painting it navy blue, but a) it appears my reply wasn't sent (I was writing in a hurry) and b)cherry red sounds like a better colour, anyway. The results will be interesting.

Bluing actually is a form of controlled oxidation (rusting), so I imagine Evapo-rust strips it just like any other product of oxidation on the metal. (:
