Yeah, those ads are annoying. And my desired soundtrack was Parliament's "Give Up The Funk," but that's not allowed so I picked one of the alternative tracks they offered me.
Sweetness! We are seriously liking this typewriter.
The flames you sent are still waiting for installation. Inevitably, large projects incur delays, parts shortages and labor unrest. I'm preparing a status update.
Very nice machine, indeed! I really like that purplish-blue ink; reminds me of the kind used long ago by the point of sales printers in the local supermarket.
I'm blown away, literally blown away. Where did you get the lettering on the back of the machine? It's absolutely fantastic. I take it you painted this machine yourself? It's fantastic. I'm blown away, I'm ... didn't I just say all that?
Wow! You couldn't have picked a nicer typewriter to show off your customizing skills - this looks marvelous. Agree with Ted; we want to know how you pulled off that purple platen!
Richard - that looks fantastic! I'm sort of peeved now, though, because I'm right now in the middle of trying to color-ify my own Torpedo's platen - before I even saw this post.
I don't know if you used the same method I'm using, but mine looks to be somewhat problematic. (Plus, there's the issue of somehow crafting my own ribbon cover for this particular Torpedo...I've got some ideas percolating...)
Not sure I can top the Purple Prose Producer, though. That thing is fantastic!
Whoa, your purple torpedo is groovin' as you type, it's got bounce! And a purple platen? What can I say?! I will stand by my earlier opinion- if Prince were a typewriter, that is what he'd be! That said, I'd do a remix of your vid using I Would Die for You from Prince's Purple Rain.
Greetings from the eastern shore of the Mediterranean!
Very nice work!
ReplyDeleteYou need to get the folks at YouTube to put Xavier University Ads on your video though instead of Walden U.

DeleteGreat work! I like too much the typewriter! Specially the drawing of the Donald Duck.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a real type of thing going down, gettin' down. There's a whole lot of typin going round.
ReplyDeleteIn purple.

ReplyDeleteok, my question is; how did you get a purple platen?

ReplyDeleteAce! Feet? Whitewalls?
ReplyDeleteAdd my name to the list of people in awe of what you can do with a typewriter. The only thing missing are two tailpipes coming out the back end! WOW!
ReplyDeleteQuel badass. But the soundtrack is louder than the sound of the typing! I want to hear that action, man!
ReplyDeleteThat's one tricked-out typewriter ride!
ReplyDeleteAdd my voice to ever-growing chorus: HOW DID YOU DO THAT PURPLE PLATEN?
I have to agree with everybody else. The purple platen just amazed me!
ReplyDelete(Rino - well played. Chortling as I type.)

Absolutely pimpish, I love it! The dice and purple platen just takes it to a whole different level. And the purple ink too - perfect. Great job!!
