Well, this one works but it's very slow, and the ribbon is dry—so here's the moment for me to confess that I typed the text on my Remington Noiseless no. 7, then slipped it into the Emerson. I do think that with a good cleaning, lube, and general tune-up, the Emerson will work reasonably well. Keep watching ...
How does the Emerson "feel" when typing? Mine was in pretty bad shape, and I never got it to work right. Yours looks to be in beautiful shape.
