Interview on “Philosophy After Hours"

I was recently interviewed on the podcast Philosophy After Hours. We discussed weighty things like the current crisis of democracy. Then we took half an hour to talk typewriters!

The conversation began in a silly vein, but by the end of it I'd promised to send a typewriter to some new recruits to the Insurgency.

And I did.

    2. I am somewhat jealous, as the English-speaking world got typewriters with really beautiful designs. The Spanish-speaking world just got mainstream Olivetti (Lettera 25, 31, 32, 35; Studio 44, 45, 46; Linea 88 and 98) and Olympia (SG-3 and SF/Traveller) models... All those Smith-Corona, Underwood, Hermes, Royal, Brother, etc., models look super fancy. <3

Crisis of the white, Western, Christian, capitalist democracy as the only authorized regime is a thing...

But I feel rather tempted to write about the fragmentation of the world in blocks again (Developed West, Underdeveloped West: Spanish-speaking Americas, French-Speaking Africa, English-speaking non-white world, South-Eastern Asia; Middle East, Eastern countries, and Russia and Russified countries). Specially because the Spanish-speaking Americas will get the worst part ever. Specially Mexico, my country. :(

    1. It's a Brother, made in Japan. Possibly some were also labeled Privileg?

    2. I find interesting and curious the fact that a country that don't use the Western alphabet as mainstream script, like Japan, had made typewriters with the Western letters on their keys. xD

Also, I wonder if Brother made typewriters with Japanese Kana script (Hiragana/Katakana), as we all know that typing ideograms (Kanji script) is basically impossible. xD
