  1. Super answers with exact times too! I like that you remembered when you started your collection and that you keep your time to the quarter hour.

Thank you for the references to the books. I need to stop buying typewriters for awhile and start reading.

  2. Very interesting, thanks for sharing this.
One more question if you don't mind: how much are you willing to pay for a typewriter you really want?

    1. I've paid as much as $2000, but it's not often that I have that kind of money, and I will spend that much only if I'm confident that I'm getting a good deal.

  3. It does not surprise me in the least that you would list the EXACT time, down to the minute, when you first started collecting typewriters!

Thank you again for providing much of the inspiration for my return to Typewriter Land!

    1. I'm kidding about the exact time. However, thanks to my paper yearly agendas, I really can establish the date as March 30, 1994. It was on the way to a vacation in New Orleans that we stopped at this shop and I picked up the Corona.

  4. It's really interesting to see how other people started collecting typewriters, and, small world, I've been reading ETCetera for a while now! I should be subscribing to it soon. Also I should be writing my version of this questionnaire... in Spanish and English.

I am truly impressed with the size and quality of your collection! And like Cameron said, thanks for providing inspiration, in this case to dedicate my blog mainly to typewriters.
