Bike cam
Here I'm pulling out of my driveway:
Gray Road is a pretty steep climb, on a narrow, winding street with traffic. Not much fun:
A glimpse of an interesting spot in the College Hill neighborhood, St. George's Serbian Orthodox Church:
And here's what makes this ride delightful -- the two-minute coast downhill through the woods of Mt. Airy Forest. This is especially pretty when the leaves turn. By the way, all of this may look rural, but it is within the Cincinnati city limits.

Nice virtual tour through "rural" Porkopolis, thanks for the ride!
ReplyDeleteVery nice bike ride. Thanks for sharing. The bumpiness makes the video ever more real as it captures the essence of a ride.
ReplyDeleteThat's better video than I would have expected.
ReplyDeleteThat's some nice wooded country you have there. The only places that look like that out west here are the forest roads up in the mountains. PS: be careful on the ride down, you're like a speed demon on the downs there :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place to ride a bike!
ReplyDeleteIn the last video, the yellow road sign should have said: "Check your bike's brakes". I can't tell from the video, but it seem there's need for brakes in that downhill...
ReplyDeleteYes, braking is a good idea!
DeleteWhat a lovely ride!
ReplyDeleteAnd I did find this interesting. I always love ride videos. As a motorcyclist, I've made videos of my own in the past, as to many of my friends.
What I find most fascinating about this, us the utter alien-ness of the landscape and the housing. Different parts of the world necessitate different lifestyles, and there was a lot of interesting sights to see in this video.
And as an Australian.... This is sooooooooo greeeeeeen...
Thanks. Yes, the Ohio River valley is pretty lush. (Which means lots of mold and pollen too.)
DeleteIt looks like a nice ride except that none of the roads seem very bike-friendly. We ride in traffic a good deal as well. It's definitely a learned skill.
DeleteThat does look rural. Is this typical Cincinnati landscape, or just the more rural side of things?
ReplyDeleteThis city has a very mixed landscape -- everything from very urban to woodsy.
DeleteIt's Richardvision! Very cool, I never knew Cincinnati had such a mixed and beautiful landscape. I must admit, I thought at first the post would be about another kind of cam for another kind of bike (a part for a motorcycle). I guess that's because I ride and tinker with them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, how do you get your typecast to show up so...large and readable? I justpostedmy first and it's tiny and impossible to read. Pointers are appreciated!
Man, that Gray Road looks dangerous as hell for a bicyclist! Very interesting idea, though, with the iPad on the handlebars.
