Typewriters of the Times: Brian Sonia-Wallace and William Stevenson

Today's New York Times Book Review section is more typewriterly than usual.

The theme seems to have been inspired by this strong review of Brian Sonia-Wallace's The Poetry of Strangers by Michael Hainey. Congratulations, Brian! (Here's my review.)

Another big spread features foreign correspondent William Stevenson and his Lettera 22.

  1. I had to give up the pipes to keep the doctors (and wife) happy. I went the Hermes Baby and SkyRiter route at first. I've been watching Lettar 22s go by on the auctions wondering if I didn't take the wrong path 🤔 ...

    Great stuff, Richard.

  2. Nice book review. I have it on my want to read list ever since I saw your post on it.
I should subscribe to the NY Times also. Oh, but I'm so far behind on all my reading.

  3. No doubt this will heighten interest in typewriters yet again. Can't be a better time for people in lockdown to be using them.
